Recruiting a Signage Estimator for an established architectural signage and wayfinding company based in the Reading area. This Signage Estimators job is a new position within the company, created as part of their new sales and marketing strategy, to help support the sales and project teams. To be considered you’ll need experience of working in sign industry estimating jobs, be technically astute and comfortable communicating with internal teams and external clients, contractors and suppliers.

About this Sign Industry Estimating job

This sign industry estimating jobs responsibilities include:

  • Review client documents to determine signage and wayfinding requirements (floor plans, drawings, specification sheets)
  • Create Bill of Quantity schedules from drawings and floor-plans
  • Establish the proposed designs and determine components and processes required
  • Determine whether manufacturing should be done in-house or outsourced to third party manufacturing partners
  • Obtain quotations from material suppliers and third party manufacturers as required
  • Create quotations in Clarity software
  • Work with the sales and business development team and/or clients to resolve any queries
  • Maintain up-to-date Costing Request Lists
  • Seek out and qualify potential new suppliers

This signage estimators job is answerable to the Managing Director and Sales Director, and is seen as integral to the company development strategy. Linking sales, design and production, to develop a slick sales process, through the creation of costing and quotations, that can dynamically react to clients requirements.

Furthermore the signage estimators job role will include:

  • Working directly with clients and the sales team to understand client needs.
  • Providing accurate and timely quotes, ensuring all customer requirements are captured.
  • Deliver added value to clients through the provision of technical advice, guidance on best practice to achieve optimum print results and aid our clients in maximising their available budgets.
  • Responsibility for delivering a high standard of paperwork and job instruction for the design team and the production factory.
  • Pro-actively manage own time and workload effectively.
  • Ensure all quality processes are followed to ensure delivery of the highest quality service and products on every job.
  • Punctual and able to adopt a flexible approach to working hours.

To be considered for this Signage Estimating job

To be considered for this Signage Estimating job you’ll need the following as a minimum:

  • Experience: Sign industry estimating experience, solid technical understanding of signage construction, knowledge of Clarity and MS office software, especially Excel essential
  • Personal traits: Methodical and organised with strong time management and communication skills
  • Education / Training etc: Maths and English O’levels / GCSE’s
  • Ideal location: Berkshire
