​About the Signage Surveyor job

Up until now, the responsibility for site surveys has been the additional duties of the Project Management and Installation teams.

However, due to continuous, sustainable growth, to reduce the workload of the Project and Install teams, allowing them to concentrate time on their other duties, our client now wants to recruit an experienced signage surveyor for this sign industry surveyors job.

Field based; you’ll be responsible for liaising with the internal teams on projects. Planning your time, and journeys, to travel to National sites throughout the UK.

The Sign Surveyor jobs responsibilities

In summary, the Sign Surveyors jobs responsibilities include:

• Compiling survey reports, including labelled photos & scope of works
• Assessing & advising on signage installation requirements
• Advising sub-contractors & other trades on any required remedial works preinstallation
• Evaluating access issues, required permits & possible Health and Safety, or other, potential hazards
• Creating detailed reports, to submit to head office / factory teams, to aid estimates, sign manufacture & installation
• Attending on-site client meetings

You

• Experience working within sign industry surveyors’ job, or signage job role that incorporates conducting site surveys
• Great accuracy & attention to detail
• Be well organised, able to manage your own workload & have good time keeping skills
• Professional, well presented, approachable & proactive
• Have sound technical knowledge of signage manufacturing, installation, & an understanding of Health & Safety
• Willing & able to travel Nationally throughout the UK.
• Eligible to work & drive in the UK

About this Junior Graphic Designers job

This junior graphic designers job is in part due to growth as well as part of the company’s succession plan to develop and integrate future design talent in the business. Therefore the opportunity to further your design skills, experience and progress your career within is available.

You’ll be working in a small, close knit team of multi-disciplinary designers and project managers. The company is based in South West London, but offers the opportunity for flexible working with a mix of 2 – 3 days a week in the studio, and / or working remotely.

Working for this signage design and project management company the junior graphic designer jobs responsibilities will primarily involve preparing signage design visuals. Whilst creative flair is always desirable, this signage design job doesn’t require creative, conceptual sign design, or the technical knowledge required for creating working drawings / signage production design.

So, in this sign design job you’ll be working from information supplied by your colleagues, clients or supply chain partners. However, the complexity of the designs will vary, and you will be required to be flexible and have the ability to adapt to each individual bespoke project.

As you progress you will be expected to learn and apply a full understanding of sign fabrication and create signage designs to meet clients various requirements.

To be considered for this graphic design job, ideally you will have experience working in a signage design job. However, if you have no sign design experience your application will be considered, but you will need at least one years experience working as a graphic designer in a relevant industry, able to display the right personal behaviours and level of quality in your graphic design work.

In addition, you will also need the following:

Essential: 

• Minimum of 1 – 2 years of experience in a graphic design role
• Ability to provide a design portfolio
• As a minimum, demonstrate experience working with Adobe Illustrator and / or Corel Draw
• Experience working with Adobe Illustrator and / or Corel Draw
• Strong attention to detail
• Effective time management and capability to meet strict design deadlines
• Ability to successfully manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn and develop your signage knowledge and design skills
• General computer literacy and electronic filing skills
• Willing and able to work from the studio in SW London 2-3 days a week

Highly desirable:

• Sign industry / Signage design experience
• Ability to read and interpret signage drawings
• Signlabs experience (1-2years)
• Ability to design to scale for fabrication / manufacture
