A forward thinking and progressive  signage and graphics company, that’s seen continuous year on year growth since their inception ten years ago.  With a multi million pound turnover and an impressive portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, they deliver visual identity and branding solutions for corporate clients and brands internationally.

Initially using manufacturing supply chain partners, several years ago they opened their own fabrication and production facility, to bring subcontracted manufacturing in house. Significant investment, the factory has been kitted out with a variety of machinery including: CNC routers, brake press, guillotine, welding machines, wall saws and large format digital printers, giving them in house capability to produce metal work, acrylic, manufacture built up letters and produce vinyl and digitally printed graphics.

Due to the current Production Manager moving internally they’re now recruiting a Production / Operations Manager to champion their production facility.

Operations Manager / Production Manager jobs responsibilities:

This is an opportunity to make this factory your baby. Since it was set up it has doubled in size and requires you to evaluate and implement revised systems and processes to improve efficiencies. Reporting to the Managing Director you’ll take ownership of:

  • Reviewing factory set up and implementing systems and process improvements on a contentious basis.
  • Production scheduling and management of production flow that can change quickly dependent on client needs.
  • Management of factory costs.
  • Procurement.
  • Negotiations with suppliers.
  • Stock control.
  • Supply chain management.
  • Health and Safety.
  • Staff recruitment and management.

You:

To be considered for this signage production managers job / operations managers job you’ll be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Hands on production management / operations management experience required.
  • Whilst sign industry knowledge would be ideal its not essential if you have experience working with similar manufacturing and fabrication machinery and techniques.
  • Proven ability of promoting continuous improvements, implementing systems and process to deliver improvements in efficiency and costs.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace, and change productions schedules, when required.
  • Highly motivated, with a can do attitude, you’ll have the ability to focus during busy times delivering to tight deadlines.
  • Good man management and motivational skills.
  • Effective communicator.
