They’re now recruiting an experienced signage business development manager to join their sales team. As a sign maker their manufacturing capability offers full fabrication and large format print, enabling them to complete bespoke signage solutions for a wide variety of clients.

Our client is a well established medium sized sign manufacturer. They have a longstanding history of successfully completing high quality signage, wayfinding and branding solutions, for a range of sectors. These include: commercial signage, corporate signage, retail signage, educational signage, hotel and leisure signage.

As a full service sign manufacturer our client has in-house production capability, and the infrastructure to enable them to implement their next phase of growth.  Their production unit has skilled craftsman (people) and the sign company produce their own in-house fabrication, using aluminium, stainless steel, ACM, acrylics, built up letters etc. Their fabrication facilities are also complemented by vinyl and large format print capability. Therefore as a signage company they’re able to provide a comprehensive service to their clients, throughout the UK. From initial design through to final installation, each project is managed to ensure client satisfaction.

About this Sign Industry Sales job

In this sign industry sales job, you’ll be responsible for:

  • New Business Development
  • Account Management and development of your own accounts
  • Following up leads from the company’s marketing activities to convert into sales
  • Working from the company database as well researching your own sales prospects
  • Quotes, Bids & Tenders
  • Client meetings
  • Meeting and exceeding sales targets

Details

As the business development manager, this sign company jobs main responsibility is for you to play an integral role in achieving the company’s growth plans. This is seen as long term appointment and as such has realistic, achievable targets, if you’ve already gained experience of successfully working in a sign industry sales job.

Ideally you’ll be able to achieve a minimum sales target of £300K in your first year, with the aim of building on your first years sales to achieve c£500K in year 2 and then kicking on from there in year 3.

As the business development manager, you’ll have the opportunity to target national sales. Whilst your focus will be on new business, you’ll also be supported to help you achieve your sales target. This will include being provided with a list of dormant customers, the opportunity to target current customers with their new projects e.g. Main Contractors. You will also be provided with a weekly list of leads.

As your account base develops it is envisaged that your role could shift from new business towards a more account management function. However should you prefer front end new business, passing over to project managers to run the accounts, this could be accommodated.

The business development manager could be based remotely, or from the head office in the south west or sales office in the south east.

  • Ideal location: Genuinely flexible for the right person to be based anywhere in the UK.

The ideal profile for this signage business development manager is an experienced sign industry sales professional. Having already gained a proven track record of success, performing in a similar signage sales job, you’ll have an understanding of assisting clients translate their needs into a signage solution. Advising on innovative new products, methods and ways of achieving stunning visual and branding solutions.

Adopting a consultative sales approach, you’ll have the technical knowledgeable of signage, specifications, materials and finishes to enable you to advise on solutions and up sell additional products.

You’ll represent the company, as such you’ll present your self and the business in a professional manner, winning clients and developing lasting relationships with them, Therefore you’ll be smart, confident at face to face meetings with groups of clients, able to effective communicate with people from all backgrounds and seniority levels.
