Due to retirement leading to the need for operational restructure our client is now recruiting a Works Manager / Production Manager to oversee the management of the shopfloor and production team.

About this sign industry Production Management job

As the Production Manager you’ll report directly to the Production Director, and be responsible for the day to day running of the shopfloor to allow the Production Director to concentrate on the research, development and prototyping of new products and client solutions.

You will be required to manage production workflow, ranging from volume rollouts to small batch production runs, adapting to client demands and the needs of the business, as well as managing the production team.

  • Liaising with internal departments, sales, project management & installation
  • Subcontractor & Supplier assessment, negotiation & management
  • Production planning / scheduling
  • Advising on technical specifications, materials & finishes
  • Managing, mentoring & motivating staff
  • Coordinating appropriate resource, overtime etc as & when required
  • Maintaining a clean & safe working environment inline with H&S policy
  • Manage the commercial aspects of production, minimising waste
  • Stock control

You

So, to be considered for this sign industry Production Management job you’ll need to be able to demonstrate:

  • A proven record in production management, ideally signage but related metal & plastic fabrication will be considered
  • Technical proficiency, understanding of materials, finishes & specifications
  • Able to read design / production drawings
  • Proven ability of production planning for bespoke products in volume & batch production runs
  • Problem solving skills, & the ability to focus on the solution not the problem
  • Understanding of Health & Safety
  • Commercially aware
  • Professional, reliable & committed with a can do attitude
  • Organised and able to work under pressure.
  • People management & leadership skills
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Right to work in the UK
