The founder and owner of the sign company is planning their phased exit from the day to day running of the business. As the incumbent Senior Manager moves into the overall management of the business, they need a “right hand man / person” to support them.

The sign manufacturer is a well established, medium sized sign company. The business is well managed, profitable and currently has a turnover between £5-10M. With approximately 20,000 square meters of factory space, the signage company is based in the south of England. From their head office they service the UK, Europe and International signage requirement of their clients.

As the General Manager / Works Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the current Senior Manager, when they take over the running of the business. Reporting directly to the Leadership Team, you will be responsible for overseeing the various teams / departments within the business. With c.4o staff members based at the head office and remotely, each team manager will report in to you.

You

To be considered for this signage job you need a proven background and understanding of each stage of the signage process. You’ll also need man management experience.

In addition, you will also need the following:

  • Strong technical knowledge of signage design, construction & installation
  • Production management experience
  • Ability to read technical drawings & sign off for production
  • An energetic personality, can do attitude, be prepared to be flexible & go the extra mile
  • Proven track record of working within a medium to large manufacturer in a similar / relevant signage job function
  • A keen eye for detail & quality driven
  • Ability to identify opportunities for innovation, value engineering & productivity improvements
  • Problem solving capabilities
  • Ability to multitask, keep a cool head during busy periods & demanding schedules
  • Well presented with good written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills
