Happy Halloween! Originally this day marked the end of summer and the harvest. Likewise, the beginning of the dark, cold winter. Notably, this time of year was associated with death.

The Celts believed that on this night the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became entwined. Allowing a gateway for the ghosts of the dead to open up, and return to earth. The Celts also thought that the presence of the otherworldly spirits made it easier for the Druids to make predictions for the future. For the Celts, who were entirely dependent on the volatile natural world, these prophecies were an important source of comfort during the long, dark and deadly winters.

The critical importance of talent

The chances are you recognise the critical importance of talent, and the influence the right team has on achieving business success. After all, most business owners and senior leaders site the importance of talent. Not to mention the threat of not having the right people as their biggest organisational challenge.

Those business owners, senior leaders and companies with a sound talent management strategy are living the dream and can celebrate. On the other hand, those without are facing a nightmare. And a long, dark, cold winter, that has the significant threat to the health, even life, of their business.
